Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will say their vows next weekend in a national event causing much excitement.
The happy couple’s wedding will be steeped in tradition ad the Suits actress marries into the Royal Family.
Meghan Markle will have a carriage to escort her to St George’s Chapel in Windsor, and will be married by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The LA-born actress was also baptised in the Church of England as part of her nuptials to Prince Harry.
She will have bridesmaids and page boys and a choir at the event, in line with British traditions.
It is thought Meghan Markle’s wedding dress will cost in the region of £40,000 and be Ralph & Russo.
But will she to wear a veil? The Queen, 91, wore a veil for her wedding, as did the late Princess Diana and Kate Middleton, 35.
Is the traditional headpiece mandatory as a royal bride?
Royal expert at managing editor of Daily Break said: “Both Diana and Kate wore veils over their faces as they were walked down the aisle.
“I’ll never forget watching Kate’s dad, Michael, lift his daughter’s veil at the altar before giving her hand to Prince William.
“I think the veil adds to the tradition, fantasy and pageantry surrounding a big wedding, especially a royal one.”
However, the expert claims there is no hard and fast rule dictating that Meghan wear a veil.
“In all my research on royalty, I’ve never come across anything that dictates what a royal bride should wear on her wedding day,” she added.
“I believe it’s more tradition than anything else that a bride – royal or not – wear a veil.”
The veil has been part of a wedding since antiquity, and was a feature during Roman weddings. It was see as a good omen for lifelong fidelity.
In later times it came to represent virginity, and often the father’s bride lifts the veils either after or before the ceremony.
It was revealed that Meghan Markle’s father will be flying into the ceremony by Kensington Palace.
Maybe Thomas Markle Sr will enjoy the special moment of lifting his daughters veil next weekend.
Who will be Meghan Markle’s bridesmaids?
Kensington Palace released a statement which gave some clues about the big day, and confirmed Meghan will have bridesmaids at the royal wedding.
The palace said: “There will also be a brief stop at the Castle where Ms. Ragland (Meghan’s mother) will head onto the Chapel and Ms. Markle will be joined by some of the Bridesmaids and Page Boys before she continues her journey to the church, where she will enter via the West Steps.”
