Sarah Ferguson is the redheaded Duchess of York who married the Queen’s second eldest son.
She is the mother of Princess Eugenie, 28, and Princess Beatrice, 30.
She is known primarily for her relationship with the Royal Family, however she has also worked with charities.
Before she married Prince Andrew, Sarah dated another British figure known in publishing.
It was reported in the Guardian that Sarah dated Paddy McNally before she was introduced to Prince Andrew.
Paddy McNally, now 85, was 27 years Sarah’s senior, and worked at a motorsports journalist before founding AllSport Management.
The Irishman’s company owned advertising rights trackside at motor events, and he sold the company to Bernie Ecclestone for £262.4 million in 2006.
The pair remain friends despite their break-up, reported to have taken place in 1985 by the Daily Mail, and Sarah stayed in his chalet in Verbier in 1997 with her two young daughters.
The businessman was also photographed with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie at the Cartier International Day held at Guards Polo Club in 2004.
A friend told the Mail Online in April 2011: “He wants to spend time taking things easy and indulging his passion for skiing in Switzerland and shooting at his estate in Wiltshire.”
Paddy McNally is a widower and has two children.
Before he married Sarah Ferguson Prince Andrew had a relationship with Koo Stark, an American photographer.
However, the pair split in 1983. In 1997 Andrew was named one of Stark’s godparents.
Sarah Ferguson’s wedding was a flashy 80s affair.
The couple married at Westminster Abbey, the same place as Kate Middleton and Prince William married 25 years later.
The guest list included some of the most famous names in the world, not only members of the Royal Family such as the Queen, Prince Charles and Princess Diana but also some of Hollywood’s elite.
Representing the US, First Lady Nancy Reagan attended with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, with Elton Josh and his wife of the time Renate Blauel also guests.
Sarah Ferguson’s wedding dress was created by designer Lindka Cierach, who has also dressed Helen Mirren, Lady Victoria Hervey and Cherie Blair.
Bumblebees and thistles were featured on the gown as a nod to Sarah’s family crest.
