Sarah Ferguson, 58, married Prince Andrew, also 58, in 1986.

The pair sadly divorced in 1996, but Sarah, also known as “Fergie”, has remained in the public eye.

The redhead is known for stealing the Prince’s heart after being invited to a party by Princess Diana.

But who are Sarah Ferguson’s parents? Does she have any siblings?

Sarah Ferguson’s father was Major Ronald Ferguson. He came from a military background, and his father was a colonel.

Born in London, he attended Eton and then trained for military life at Sandhurst. After his service he became a polo managed, a sport that he loved.

Sarah Ferguson first met Prince Andrew as a child, playing with him at the sporting event. He was Prince Charle’s polo manager at the Guards Polo Club for a time.

Ronald had two children, including Sarah, with his first wife Susan Wright, the other being called Jane.

After the breakdown of his marriage to this first wife he has three more children with his second wife Susan Deptford, Andrew, Alice and Eliza.

He died aged 71 of a heath attack, but had bravely battled cancer during the last decade of his live, suffering from prostate cancer and skin cancer.

Sarah’s mother Susan is best known for the controversy she caused when she left the Duchess’s father for an Argentinian polo player.

Susan was from Bramcote, Nottingham. She married her first husband at St Margaret’s, Westminster in January 1956, but left him in 1972 for Hector Barrantes, who she moved to Argentina with when Sarah was only 12. Sarah remained in the UK and was raised by her father.

Susan’s second husband died in 1990, leaving her widowed with financial difficulties, causing her set up a television company to sustain herself.

She died in a car accident with another car in September 1998.
