Where to sit on a flight to avoid catching an illness – Dr Chris recommends this

The study shows that an infected air steward presents a greater risk to anyone sitting in an aisle or missile seat, compared to someone sat by the window.

But, if you are sat within a row or even two seats away from an infected passenger, you have an 80 per cent chance of catching a bug, no matter what seat you’re sat in.

Dr Chris Steele, discussed the findings by Emory University in the Unites States on This Morning.

Presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield asked Dr Chris what he would do to avoid getting ill on a plane. His answer, may come as a surprise to some.

He said: “Personally I wouldn’t do anything.

“We’re all a bit too clean.”

He said: “Social distancing – keep away from people. About five foot minimum,” he said.

Dry, tickly and mucus are just a few of the types of cough which circulate round this time of year.
