What is the Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus release date?

Bethesda fans across the world were expecting an Elder Scrolls announcement at E3 but were instead surprised with a trailer for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

The game was teased at last year but has now been given a release date for October 27 on , and PC.

In the same fashion as Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, The New Colossus will take place in an alternate reality where the Nazis won World War Two.

Wolfenstein II will take place in America for the first time in the series and will see players play again as protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz in 1961.

The game will take the players through dusty Roswell, New Mexico, the bayou of New Orleans as well the nuclear wastes of New York City.

“Equip an arsenal of badass guns, and unleash new abilities to blast your way through legions of advanced Nazi soldiers, cyborgs, and über soldiers in this definitive first-person shooter,” Bethesda said in an official announcement.

What is the story of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus?

Fans will be thrilled to once more play as B.J. Blazkowicz – aka “Terror-Billy” – as he leads a group of resistance fighters against the Nazis.

Wolfenstein II is a direct sequel to the The New Order, with Terror Billy recovering from the wounds sustained at the hand of General Deathshead.

The new adventure will pit the injured hero on a mission to reclaim his “beloved nation”.

“Bloody but unbowed, he soon finds himself fully restored and stronger than ever”, writes Gary Steinman on Bethesda’s website.

“Along the way, BJ will mow down anyone in his path using an awesome arsenal of high-tech weaponry, including the Laserkraftwerk (perfect for disintegrating Nazi goons) or the Dieselkraftwerk (built to blast a bunch of enemies with gas-powered grenades).”

Players will have a chance to dual-wield all sorts of fire-arms and melee weapons, with the chance to upgrade them as they progress.

Fans of the series can also look forward to revisiting some classic characters such as Caroline, Bombate, Set, Max Hass, Fergus and Wyatt.
