What religion is Melania Trump? Is Donald Trump’s wife Christian?

Melania Trump, 47, is the wife of President of the United States Donald Trump, 71.

The stunning former model is originally from Novo Mesto, Slovenia, and lived in the country until she was 18.

She has an 11-year-old son Barron Trump with Donald, who she married in 2005.

A far cry from her husband’s upbringing in New York, Slovenia was under communist rule during the time Melania lived there – meaning religion was frowned upon.

What religion is Melania Trump?

The fact that the Communist Party in Slovenia upheld atheism did not prevent Melania’s family from carrying out their religious rituals – however covert they must be.

Melania’s father Viktor Knavs could not publicly reveal the First Lady’s baptism or her first communion, Melania Trump’s Inside Story – a book written by Zalozba Ombo in February 2016, reports.

Although this was, it’s claimed, a common practice in the country at the time.

It is believed she was secretly baptised by the Roman Catholic parish priest of St. Lawrence’s Church in Raka, on June 14, 1970.

And Melania still ascribes to the religion today. In May, Melania’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham confirmed to DailyMail.com that Melania is Catholic.

Confirmation of her religion by her spokesperson came shortly after the First Lady met with Pope Francis earlier this year.

Melania is the first Catholic to live in the White House since John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie moved out.

Melania, had her wedding to Donald Trump January 22, 2005, at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida.

This is an Anglican church, although Melania notably carried a rosary on the day, which was reported to be a family heirloom.

Barron Trump, 11, was christened in an Anglican service at the same church.

Express.co.uk has emailed Melania’s management agency and representative at the White House for confirmation.

Yesterday Melania was seen wearing a leather skirt at the 70th National Thanksgiving turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House.

The skirt, which clung to every curve, was worn very high, coming up to Melania’s waist.

However, she topped the outfit with a frumpy floral print coat, which she wore over her shoulders.
