‘Westworld’ Season 2 Photos: More Mysteries to Unravel

westworld season 2 photos

Westworld is returning for an all-new season of violent delights in April, and a handful of Westworld season 2 photos have arrived for you to obsess over.

As you await Westworld season 2, feast your eyes on some intriguing new images courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. These season 2 pics are appropriately mysterious, and vague enough to raise a whole new set of questions for HBO’s hit puzzle-box show. While these Westworld season 2 photos don’t give too much away about the new season, if you’ve avoided watching the first season up until now, you might want to steer clear.

Westworld Season 2 Tessa Thompson

The other day news broke that several cast members assumed to have perished at the end of season 1 would be returning after all. One of them was Tessa Thompson‘s Charlotte Hale. In this image, Hale can be seen chatting with Jeffery Wright‘s Bernard Lowe. In the background, people in dirty formal wear can be spotted, which indicates this scene happens not-too-soon after the first season’s climactic celebration-turned-anarchy scene.

Westworld season 2 Dolores Teddy

Here we have Evan Rachel Wood‘s Dolores and James Marsden‘s frequently-killed Teddy Flood embracing in the friscalating dusklight. Dolores has a bandoleer of bullets, because she means business, folks.

Another Dolores pic shows her decked-out in very modern dress as opposed to her usual Western attire, which raises all sorts of questions. Also: she looks very fashionable.

Westworld Thandie Newton.

Another image shows fan-favorite Maeve (Thandie Newton) threatening the worst character on the entire show, snobby jerk writer Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman).

Westworld Luke Hemsworth.

Here’s yet another character who we assumed got bumped-off in season one: Stubbs, played by one of the Hemsworth boys; I think it’s Zeppo Hemsworth (correction: it’s actually Luke Hemsworth). Stubbs is chilling with a dune buggy at the beach, which sounds pretty nice right about now. Crack open a cold one, Stubbs.

Westworld Jeffrey Wright

Jefferey Wright faces off a against a “”drone host”, which, according to EW, “somehow relates to Delos’ top-secret project.”

Westworld Ed Harris

Finally, here’s Ed Harris looking a little worse for wear as the Man in Black.

Westworld season 2 promises to be bigger and crazier than the last season, with a whole new set of mysteries to explore. Speaking with EW about the new season, Jeffery Wright says:

“The scale of season 2 is just nuts, literally right out of the gate. It’s so much more expansive, it makes the first season look like a gentile kitchen drama.”

Series creator Jonathan Nolan describes the new season as a “journey outward”:

“We want to feel like the show is rocketing ahead. The first season was a journey inward, this is a journey outward. It’s a search for what else is in the park, and what else is beyond the park.”

Westworld season 2 premieres on HBO April 22, 2018.
