The robot creator (played by Anthony Hopkins) was killed by Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood) during the epic season finale.
Although he was partially responsible for the robot uprising, it seems that Ford could have been one step ahead of the ball and actually saved.
Express.co.uk spoke to Futurologist Dr Ian Pearson who spilled the beans on a exciting development within the real-life Artificial Intelligence community which would allow the creator to escape death.
He confessed: “It’s been established that [humans] can put their mind inside a robot before their die and then they can carry on.
“A lot of people are talking about ‘electronic immortality’ whereby the time your body has died, 80 percent of your mind is in cyberspace – it’s taking root in the AI community.
“This was Ford’s plan to give the robots purpose. Was Ford an android? Who was and who wasn’t?
“We may end up with a society where you can’t tell who is and who isn’t a robot in the future,” Dr Pearson explained.
The theory poses, therefore, that either Ford was a robot all along, or he has created a consciousness in order to cheat death.
What’s more, the technology seen in the show could actually come to life, according to Dr Pearson.
“A lot of us think we will be able to make those sorts of things like robots that look like people that you can interact with just like other people.
“These androids, we might have them in our homes and it could be possible to make a theme park like Westworld,” he confessed.
Westworld season one is available on 4K ultra HD, Blu-Ray and DVD now.
The second season is expected to air on HBO in Spring 2018.
