The presenter broke down and was seen wiping away her tears after watching Moz The Monster, which received a mixed response from those at home.
The 42-year-old admitted festive commercials “always get me” much to the amusement of her co-stars Ben Shephard, Richard Arnold and Kate Garraway.
As it cut back to the studio, the latter, 50, quickly told viewers: “We’ve just gone… oh my god.”
“Well that had it all,” Richard, 47, continued, referencing the clip which sees a little boy befriend a large creature under his bed.
“They always get me – Christmas adverts. Sorry, just move on, it’s fine. We had a big night last night,” Charlotte went on.
The mother-of-one had hit the red carpet at the ITV Gala yesterday alongside Laura Tobin and Kate, whose outfit was later compared to that of a pearly queen.
“Are you leaking Prosecco out of your eyes now?” Ben, 42, quipped, as Richard went on: “This is just remorse for last night.”
Many reacted on Twitter, writing: “Charlotte Hawkins crying hysterically #GMB,” and: “#MozTheMonster #johnlewischristmasadvert @CharlotteHawkns #GMB is crying to it already lol.”(sic)
“So it’s 8am and I’m literally CRYING at the John Lewis Christmas ad, well done absolutely amazing #GMB #MozTheMonster,” a third agreed with Charlotte.
However others told her to “get a grip”, with another tweet reading: “They’re crying at an advert… I didn’t even understand it #gmb.”(sic)
