A viral video posted on Youtube has captured the moment a burglar attempts to steal packages from a person’s porch.
The unsuspecting victims do not appear to be home in the video captured on the Nest Cam – tech to protect against online delivery theft this festive season – and so their packages have been left outside of the front door.
There is one large box and a smaller package, lying in wait for their rightful owners when they get home.
However, one shady passerby spots the packages lying, unprotected, and decides to move in on the goodies.
The man, whose face has been blurred out in the video, wears a blue hoodie, a black cap and grey shorts, with a large bag around his shoulders.
He looks cautiously around him as he climbs onto the stranger’s porch.
The thief bends down to pick up the parcels, but is then startled by a car that appears to pull up on the road outside.
Thinking quickly the shocked man throws the packages off the side of the porch.
A woman, who is presumably the homeowner, then runs towards the man, shouting: “Hey, hey, hey! Drop it, drop it.”
She then tells the man to: “Get the f*** out of here.”
The man casually walks away from the scene, while the woman picks up the parcels.
Research from the Citizens Advice Bureau found that 1 in 5 UK consumers have already had a delivery go missing, with over 27 per cent receiving a note through the door saying the package couldn’t be delivered when they were in fact at home.
Another recent viral video showed the moment a woman is nearly hit by a flying object.
The viral video shows the young woman working in a shop as a car pulls up alongisde.
As another woman leans out of her car window, the other woman starts to retrieve some items for her out of a large chest that sits in the front of the shop.
She then heads over to the car to retrieve payment for the items as the second woman stretches out her hand to pass the money over.
