Melania Trump, 47, is one of the most famous women in the world thanks to her husband Donald winning his bid for President of the United States last year – and being inaugurated into the position in January.
Former-model Melania has been by his side every step of the way.
But back in 2011 when the mother-of-one was on the promotional trail for her QVC jewellery collection she admitted the couple enjoyed some time apart.
Speaking to Sherrina Navani, of the Mommy Helper Show, Melania admitted she enjoyed having private massages away from her family.
She said: “He’s a great husband, very understanding if I need time for myself. We are both very independent.
“He works in the office and I work at home. And he understands that, if I say I need an hour, I’m going to take a bath or I’m going to have a massage, he doesn’t have anything against it.
“He’s very supportive in that way.”
During the same interview Navani asked the now-First Lady who out of herself and Donald was the disciplinarian for their son Baron, now 11.
She said: “I am [the disciplinarian] because I spend most of the time with him.
“My husband, he’s in the office and working. Then weekends we spend together.
“I would say, I am but we are both [the disciplinarian]. My husband, he’s really big on the discipline for the children. No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes. Work hard and play hard.
“I think in one way that is already in Baron but he will learn more in the future as well.”
The throwback comes after a source close to Melania revealed she is tiring of life as the First Lady.
Federico Pignatelli, 53, an Italian prince, has spoken about hosting Donald and Ivanka at parties at his home in New York in the past.
He revealed Melania is feeling the intensity of a role in the public eye.
Speaking to US publication Life&Style magazine, the Italian businessman said: “She feels the pressure. She always has to be kind, perfect, well-dressed, well-everything.
“It’s tiring. It’s a tough schedule. She has to be a mother, a first lady, the wife of a man as well.”
