Producers are said to be trying to boost viewing figures after Chris Evans’ attempt failed to capture audiences’s imaginations.
The three Top Gear hosts, including Rory Reid and Chris Harris, will also try other exotic delicacies, such as sheep ears and a pig’s face during a special in Kazakhstan.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Chris said: “The weirdest thing I saw?
“I saw Matt try and eat part of a horse that was used in some sort of reproductive process and give up quite early on.”
He added: “I ate a half cooked sheep’s ear with a bit of mould on it. I thought I was going to be sick.”
Rory’s ‘bush tucker trial’ came in the form of bacon, saying: “The strangest thing I ate was a pig’s face. And brain. And ears.”
The trio will reportedly have an equal part in the show after Chris Evans’ solo venture failed to connect with audiences.
Speaking of the new line-up, Matt revealed: “For the three guys that were on the show before us, it took them a while to build up a rapport.
“This is the first season for the three of us, and it does take a little while. Everyone is open to getting along but it takes a little while to speed up the shorthand,” he explained.
However, Matt feels that the trio are close to finding the right balance, saying: “we are starting to click.”
The new series is set to star Strictly Come Dancing’s most recent winner, Ore Oduba, and jockey Frankie Dettori.
