In the first-look trailer released ahead of the 25th series, Matt, Chris and Rory Reid can be seen heading to Japan, the US, Italy and even Surrey for a set of new adventures.
However, in one segment of the teaser, Matt can be seen play-fighting and pushing Chris through a paper wall following a race track lap.
Matt, 50, has now apologised to his co-host, explaining that he didn’t realise the walls were made of paper.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Matt apologised: “Had I known it was a paper wall, I’d have not done that! Sorry again!”
His forgiving co-presenter Chris, 43, replied: “No, it’s fine, it’s fine.”
As the trio of hosts have just filmed another series together, the trailer suggested far more on-set pranks than in their previous series together.
Chris explained: “No, it’s not about pranks on set.
“It’s the fact that the chemistry is growing between the three of us now so we know each other better and then you take more liberties with each other’s sense of humours.
“So yeah, none of that’s made up. If you’re not having fun making it, there’ll be no joy in the films themselves.”
He added: “So we’re having a lot of fun making it, hence I think there’s a lot more joy in the films now as well.”
Top Gear has seen its fair share of scrapes and injuries, but will any new injuries be broadcast when the new series airs?
Matt jokingly revealed that he suffered a horrendous injury while filming out in Norway.
He chuckled: “I got a hangnail in Norway! Do you remember that?” as Chris endearingly laughed: “Oh you did, yes!”
Matt added: “No, no-one so far, so good. Knock wood. No-one has got hurt!”
