Tom Kerridge weight loss diet: Chef reveals he cut out THIS food to lose weight

Tom Kerridge, 44, recently lost a significant amount of weight – 11 stone – after he crept up to 30 stone.

He has now written a recipe book of delicious meals to help those trying to slim down.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Tom revealed how he had shed the weight.

First he explained why he found himself over weight, and what pushed him to slim down.

He said: “As a chef you work long hours, and fall into the trap of drinking a lot and eating late at night.

“Also, the pressure of running a business can make you turn to food.

“Approaching 40years old was a point of recognition in my life. There wasn’t any conversation with doctors, or a problem with my career – I just decided to make a change.”

He then detailed how he changed his life to lose the weight, and said: “I lost weight by choosing a low carb diet because I could still cook as I wanted, with things like butter and cream.

“I cut out drinking, carbs and starch. In fact I don’t drink at all now.

“I son’t eat bread very often, although I do eat carbs in fruit. I love apples.”

Tom said he believes “all diets work”, in that people can lose weight on them, but most are impossible to stick to.

He explained: “All diets work – but you fall off them because the food you’re eating, you’re not interested in, it’s boring.

“My book is about making food flavoursome so it is possible to keep with it.”

Tom Kerridge’s Dopamine diet contains dairy foods such as milk, cheese and yogurt, unprocessed meats such as beef, chicken and turkey, omega-3 rich fish such as salmon and mackerel and eggs.

Also on the list are vegetables and fruits, especially bananas, nuts and dark chocolate.

You should also not eat alcohol, caffeine and processed sugar, as well as starchy carbohydrates.
