A post in late August took a convincing screen-grab that appeared to show the Hollywood A-lister’s posterior looking a little disproportionate.
But now, on the promo trail for his new project American Made, Cruise has rubbished the cheeky chat.
“I have no idea,” he told ScreenRant when asked about the meme.
“There was no prosthetic in Valkyrie. No.”
Co-incidentally, the star will possibly bare his own natural derriere in the new movie – as his character repeatedly moons his family.
“It’s me. It’s not CGI, it’s me,” he declared.
“I do my own mooning in films. So let it be known – I do my own mooning.”
And so, it would seem, he does not need a fake behind either.
Valkyrie, a historical thriller set during Naxzi Germany, received fairly positive reviews at the time of its release – amassing a 62% approval score on Rotten Tomatoes.
It was also a modest box office hit, topping $ 200.3 million worldwide.
American Made was released in the UK last month. Its US release follows on September 29.
