Top Tech Deals

Logitech Harmony Ultimate, $ 170

The Logitech Harmony Ultimate has just about every feature you could ever ask for in a universal remote, and then some, and Amazon’s offering it up for an all-time low $ 170 today.

The Harmony Ultimate can control 15 of your favorite devices (from a database of 270,000), including ones hiding behind cabinet doors. Its touchscreen gives you quick access to your favorite settings, and its smartphone companion app brings the same options to your iOS or Android device. Plus, it can even control smart home devices like your Philips Hue lights, meaning you can create a “Movie” mode that turns on your TV and Blu-ray player, switches your TV to the right input, and dims the lights, all with one push of a button.

Jackery Jewel, $ 11 with code ISGHK383

Jackery makes some of the most popular battery packs around, but the Jackery Jewel is unlike anything else on the market.

Really, the Jewel isn’t so much a battery pack as it is a Lightning cable with a battery bulge in the middle, like a snake that just ate a rat. That 450mAh battery is only good for a ~15-20% charge, depending on the iPhone model, but that can be the difference between finishing the night with a working smartphone or an inert slab of glass. And of course, it also works as a standard Lightning cable, complete with passthrough charging and data transfer. Just use code ISGHK383 at checkout to get the best price ever.

Update: We were having some trouble with this deal earlier in the week, but it seems to be resolved now.

Anker PowerCore Fusion, $ 20 with code KINJFUSN

One of the newest members of Anker’s insanely popular PowerCore battery pack family pulls double duty as a USB wall charger, and you can get one for an all-time low $ 20 with promo code KINJFUSN.

I played around with the PowerCore Fusion when it first launched, and loved it, mostly for the fact that it’s the only Anker battery pack that you can charge by plugging straight into the wall. You can read all of my impressions here, and then head over to Amazon to get yours for $ 6 off.

15% off PicasoLabs laptop sleeves with promo code KINJA015

Your laptop is one of the most expensive things you own, and it deserves to be treated as such. Rather than throwing it roughshod into your bag, slip it into one of PicasoLabs’ beautiful, hand-stitched leather sleeves, now on sale for the first time ever.

Jesus Diaz raved about these, and interviewed the creator, on Gizmodo a few years ago, and now you can pick your own from Amazon with promo code KINJA015, complete with custom engraving.

There are several options available, and prices will vary depending on the size of your laptop. They’re all designed specifically for various MacBook models, but compare measurements, and you could probably find one to fit your Windows Ultrabook as well. No matter which one you choose, you’ll save 15% at checkout with that promo code, and you won’t even have to pay extra for the engraving. This is the first discount they’ve ever offered to anyone, so treat yourself.

Hard Drive Gold Box

Whether you’re backing up your computer, storing a massive movie collection, or need a big drive to hold all of your Xbox One and PS4 games, you can find a storage solution on sale in today’s Amazon Gold Box.

Inside, you’ll find portable hard drives, desktop externals (which require a power cord), NAS enclosures, bare disks, and more, all marked down to great low prices. I suspect most of you will gravitate towards the Seagate Backup Plus desktop drives, which come in at $ 72, $ 88, and $ 184 for 3TB, 4TB, and 8TB respectively. Just note that reviewers say the 8TB model’s built-in USB hub makes it incompatible with the PS4, but it should work with Xbox One.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg though, so head over to Amazon to see the rest of the deals.

Mesh Wi-Fi routers are the new hotness, and the popular Luma system is on sale for an all-time low $ 180 for a pack of two routers from Home Depot, or $ 120 less than Amazon.

Rather than relying on a single base station to fill your entire home with Wi-Fi, Luma uses multiple access points to create a dense mesh of connectivity, making dead zones a thing of the past. Plus, they include some neat software for parents like automatic content filtering and daily time limits for specific devices. And if you move to a bigger place or find that two doesn’t cover your whole house, you can always add more later.

Refurb Vizio 38" 5.1 Sound Bar, $ 155

Vizio’s 5.1 channel sound bar systems are the simplest way to add surround sound to any home theater setup, and refurbs of the 38" model are on sale for $ 155, today only from Woot.

I’ve owned this system for about a year now, and absolutely love it. It takes about five minutes to set up, doesn’t require a receiver, and sounds plenty good for the price.

Apple MacBook Pro With Touch Bar 512GB, $ 1799

If you can’t wait to get your grubby little fingers on the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, you can get the top-of-the-line 512GB 13" model for $ 200 off today on Amazon (silver only, no space grey). It’s still an expensive machine any way you slice it, but this one of the best discounts we’ve seen so far.

Kmashi 20,00mAh QC 3.0 Battery Pack, $ 29 with code Z6Y36CXQ

$ 29 is a great price for a basic 20,000mAh USB battery pack. For one with Quick Charge 3.0 output and input though? It’s pretty much unprecedented. Just be sure to use promo code Z6Y36CXQ at checkout to save $ 8.

Preorder Samsung Galaxy S8

If you’ve picked your jaw up off the floor from the Samsung Galaxy S8 announcement and are ready to preorder, Verizon’s offering some shockingly good trade-in incentives if you have an old phone you’re willing to part with.

By way of example, Gazelle is currently paying out only $ 125 for a 16GB Verizon iPhone 6, but this deal would net you nearly three times as much in the form of bill credits. Plus, if you preorder, you can also get a free Gear VR headset and controller from Samsung to get the most out of your new toy.

There are a few catches here. First and foremost, you’ll have to sign up for Verizon’s new unlimited plan, which is actually a pretty decent deal if you’re a heavy data user. You’ll also have to pay for your phone in installments, with the trade-in credit awarded in the form of monthly bill credits over 24 months. Verizon doesn’t charge extra for this, but you will have to stick with them for two years to get your full trade-in value.

Kohree HDTV Bias Light (White), $ 10 with code 9QK4O6IU | RGB, $ 10 with code 74J7BQ6Z

HDTV bias lights are so cheap now, that you really don’t have any reason not to try one out.

These Kohree LED bias light strips plug directly into your TV’s USB port for power, and stick to the back of the set via built-in adhesive. Once you turn your TV on, the light strip will cast a soft glow on the wall behind it, which can reduce eyestrain when watching in the dark, and improve your TV’s perceived black levels.

Both the white and color models are $ 10 right now, so I’d probably opt for the RGB, unless it sell out.

Three Amazon Echo Dots, $ 130 with code DOT3PACK

Amazon’s Alexa is basically the operating system of the home, but to fully appreciate it, you need to scatter Echoes and Echo Dots around your house until they can basically hear your from anywhere. If you’re ready to fully commit, Amazon’s offering a solid discount on the already-affordable Echo Dot when you buy three, this week only.

To get the deal, just add three Dots to your cart, and use promo code DOT3PACK at checkout. The $ 130 you’ll spend is, somewhat incredibly, $ 50 less than a single full-sized Amazon Echo. The Dots’ speakers obviously aren’t as good, but you can plug them in or pair them over Bluetooth to any other speaker you have lying around, which makes them perfect little omnipotent, voice-activated Music streamers.

1 Year NordVPN, $ 48 with code VIP70 | 2 Year Plan, $ 72 with code 2YSpecial2017

One day, we might get representatives in Washington that value their constituents’ privacy over corporate profits, but until then, it’s as good a time as any to sign up for a VPN service. Luckily, it costs less per month than a typical trip to Starbucks.

NordVPN has long been one of the most popular and reliable VPN providers out there, and if you sign up for a one-year membership, promo code VIP70 will drop your annual price from $ 69 to $ 48. If you’re sure you want to commit, use this link instead to get a special two year plan for $ 72 with code 2YSpecial2017. Lifehacker has recommended Nord in some previous guides, but if you have any firsthand experience with the service, sound off in the comments!

Refurb Amazon Fire HD 6 8GB, $ 35

Update: We had one reader write in to tell us she received a Fire HD 6 Kids Edition, so maybe tread carefully.

Even at full price, the 8GB Fire HD 6 is already one of the best sub-$ 100 tablets you can buy. At $ 35 though, it’s a ridiculously good steal.

The big caveat here is that it’s a certified refurbished unit, but this deal is half the current price of buying it new, and an all-time low by $ 15. It’s also $ 15 cheaper than the entry-level Fire tablet, which has a worse (albeit slightly larger) screen, a slower processor, and less battery life.

Top Home Deals

Amazon Dash Buttons, $ 1 plus $ 5 first-use credit with code DASHBDAY. Limit three per customer.

Amazon’s Dash Buttons were born two years ago today, and everyone assumed it was an early April Fool’s joke at the time. But they’re still alive and clicking, and Amazon’s running a fantastic deal right now to celebrate their birthday.

For one week only, you can buy up to three Dash buttons of your choice for $ 1 each with promo code DASHBDAY. And as always, the first time you use them to order an item from Amazon, you’ll automatically receive a $ 5 discount. That basically means if you maximize this deal and use all three, you’ll be getting $ 12 worth of value essentially for free.

Haribo Gummi Bears – 5 Pounds, $ 10

It’s been over a month since the last time we posted a deal on Haribo Gold Bears, so you’ve finished your last bag and you’re ready for a resupply, Amazon’s marked it back down to $ 10 with Subscribe & Save, or $ 11 with standard shipping.

Also, fear not, these aren’t the sugar free ones that famously do horrible things to you body.

4-Pack Philips LED 60W Equivalent Bulbs, $ 4

When I first bought LED bulbs, $ 8 was a good price. Over the past year or so, we’ve frequently posted them for under $ 2. But today’s the first deal I’ve ever seen for $ 1 per bulb. Obviously, at this price, they aren’t dimmable, but they’ll be fine for basic lamps and ceiling fixtures.

Cuisinart Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls, $ 16

Update: Sold out

No kitchen is complete without a good set of mixing bowls, and this 3-pack from Cuisinart (complete with lids) has never been cheaper. These are actually the most popular mixing bowls on all of Amazon, so we don’t expect this deal to last long.

Royal Purple Max-Clean Fuel System Cleaner, $ 10

Periodically cleaning your fuel system can increase your car’s gas mileage and horsepower, and you can do it yourself for $ 10 today with this 20 ounce can of Royal Purple. Just pour it into a nearly empty gas tank before you fill up, and you’ll be good to go for 10,000 miles.

Suaoki 400A Portable Jump Starter, $ 36 with code VRJGR9PW | BESTEK 600A Jump Starter, $ 40 with code 8CAZ6TK7

We all know that car batteries only die when you’re in a hurry to get somewhere. So rather than calling AAA or relying on a random passerby to give you a jump, pick up a self-contained jump starter for $ 40 or less.

If you own a small sedan, the $ 36 model from Suaoki should be fine, but most of you should just pay $ 4 extra for the 600A BESTEK, which is capable of jumping gas engines up to 5L.

GORUCK’s military-inspired GR1 dominated this week’s Co-Op for the best everyday backpack, and they’re celebrating by offering our readers a rare 10% discount with promo code KINJAGORUCK10.

Now, even with the code, this is still a $ 267 backpack. I’m not blind to the fact that that’s a lot of money. But every GR1 is hand-built over the course of four hours in the USA, is covered by a lifetime warranty, and by basically all accounts is just incredibly well-made. There’s a very real chance that this will be the last backpack you ever have to buy.

Own one? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum, $ 113

The Shark Navigator Lift-Away is your favorite upright affordable vacuum, and Amazon’s marked it down to $ 113 today. That’s the lowest it’s ever been outside of a one-day Gold Box deal last year. Every other time we’ve spotted it at this price, it hasn’t lasted long, so lock in your order before they’re all sucked up.

Ecobee3 Smart Thermostat, $ 199

While it doesn’t have the brand recognition of Nest’s learning Thermostat, the Ecobee3 Smart Thermostat one-ups its most popular competitor by including a wireless remote sensor that you can place elsewhere in your house, giving the thermostat a more accurate picture of your home’s overall temperature. Plus, it’ll work with Siri via HomeKit, and your Amazon Echo too.

This thing almost always sells for around $ 250, but Amazon just dropped that to $ 199, matching Black Friday. This was briefly available yesterday for a few minutes, but sold out quickly. I’d expect the same today.

2-Pack OxyLED Motion-Activate LED Under-Bed Strip Light, $ 18 with code 2OXYS101

Thousands of our readers have purchased Vansky’s motion-activated under-bed light, but OxyLED recently launched its own version, and you can get two for the price of one for a limited time.

These are great for shuffling to the bathroom at night without stubbing your toes, and with today’s deal, you can install one on each side of your bed. Just be sure to add two to your cart, and use code 2OXYS101 at checkout to get the deal.

Cast Iron Chainmail Scrubber, $ 10 with code 94SIKF62

One of the only downsides of cast iron pans is that they can be a nightmare to clean, but this 4.8 star-rated chainmail scrubber can scrape away caked-on food without hurting your seasoning, or resorting to soap. No wonder a similar item is in our bestsellers club. Today’s $ 10 deal isn’t on the brand we usually post, but it’s one of the best prices we’ve ever seen on an item like this.

KMASHI UV Flashlight, $ 6 with code DB4HAXZR

Blacklight flashlights are great if you want to spot hidden stains on train seats, hotel sheets, or (gasp) even in your own house…if that’s something you want to do.

It may seem silly, but if you find even one stain in a hotel room and complain to management, I guarantee that this thing will pay for itself several times over.

Chemical Guys Miracle Dryer Microfiber Towel, $ 9

Chemical Guys’ Miracle Dryer microfiber towel is basically just a sponge in towel form, and you’d be hard pressed to find something that gets your car dryer with less effort. $ 9 is the best price Amazon’s ever listed, so that’s one less excuse to not wash your car this weekend.

Update: It’s now up to $ 11, but you can still get it for $ 9 with Subscribe & Save. Just be sure to cancel your subscription after you get it.

Aukey Car Mount, $ 5 with code AUKHDC05

Aukey’s simple magnetic smartphone vent holder is one of the most popular car mounts out there, and from personal experience, I can tell you it’s awesome for taking on vacation for use in a rental car as well. For $ 5, go ahead, give it a try.

If you really want a windshield or dashboard-mounted phone holder instead, here’s one for $ 7.

Eufy RoboVac 11, $ 187

The RoboVac 11 from Eufy (a division of Anker) is one of your favorite robotic vacuums, and in my own testing, it’s every bit as good (and far quieter) than my Roomba 770. If it’s been on your radar, today’s deal on Amazon is one of the best we’ve ever seen.

Despite its impressive performance, the RoboVac normally sells for over $ 100 less than the Roomba 650, and today on Amazon, you can get and extra $ 33 off its usual price. Vacuuming is the worst chore, so it’s worth every penny to pawn it off to a robot.

White House Down/Olympus Has Fallen Combo Pack, $ 10

Remember in 2013 when two movies about the White House being attacked came out within like, a month of each other? Hilariously, they’re now being sold as a combo Blu-ray for just $ 10, or $ 10 less than usual.

Way Station [Kindle], $ 1

Way Station, the story of a rural Wisconsin man who operates a pit stop for aliens passing through the galaxy, won the 1964 Hugo award for best novel, and it can be yours on Kindle for just $ 1 today.

Enoch Wallace is not like other humans. Living a secluded life in the backwoods of Wisconsin, he carries a nineteenth-century rifle and never seems to age—a fact that has recently caught the attention of prying government eyes. The truth is, Enoch is the last surviving veteran of the American Civil War and, for close to a century, he has operated a secret way station for aliens passing through on journeys to other stars. But the gifts of knowledge and immortality that his intergalactic guests have bestowed upon him are proving to be a nightmarish burden, for they have opened Enoch’s eyes to humanity’s impending destruction. Still, one final hope remains for the human race . . . though the cure could ultimately prove more terrible than the disease.

Winner of the Hugo Award for Best Novel, Way Station is a magnificent example of the fine art of science fiction as practiced by a revered Grand Master. A cautionary tale that is at once ingenious, evocative, and compassionately human, it brilliantly supports the contention of the late, great Robert A. Heinlein that “to read science-fiction is to read Simak.”

Star Wars: The Complete Saga, $ 58

The Star Wars “Complete Saga” Blu-ray isn’t actually complete anymore, since it doesn’t include The Force Awakens or Rogue One, but $ 58 is still the best price we’ve seen on the first six films. You also get audio commentary on each movie, 45 deleted scenes, and three bonus discs full of extra featurettes.
