Titanic PLOT HOLE: Scientist reveals MAJOR flaw in Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio movie

The heartbreaking moment in the Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet starring movie, directed by James Cameron, is one of the most often parodied moments in an otherwise iconic blockbuster.

Now, science pro Neil DeGrasse Tyson has pointed out another obvious problem with the whole thing – and it comes down to one very important character trait.

Jack’s previously incredibly prominent survival instinct.

He explained to Huffington Post: “Whether or not he could’ve been successful [in joining Rose], I would’ve tried more than once.

“You try once. ‘Oh, this is not gonna work. I will just freeze to death in the water.’ No, excuse me. No!”

He added: “The survival instinct is way stronger than that in everybody, especially in that character.

“[Jack’s] a survivor, right? He gets through. He gets by.

“And I’ll tell you this, if that character was Matt Damon from The Martian, he would’ve made an outboard motor and saved everybody. This is how science can help you!”

Winslet recently spoke of her bond with DiCaprio, saying they have been able to remain such firm friends over the years because they never at any point had any attraction to each-other.

She will soon reunite with Cameron on the Avatar sequels, which are now in production.

Titanic, released in 1997, grossed $ 2.2 billion at the box office.
