Just how much Jeff Goldblum footage did Taika Waititi shoot for Thor: Ragnarok? However much it is, I want to see all of it. Some day, some kind soul will compile all the Goldblum Ragnarok footage into one spot. For now, a new Thor: Ragnarok deleted scene has arrived to bless us all with the gift of Goldblum.
Another day, another new bit of Jeff Goldblum footage from Thor: Ragnarok. Goldblum’s loopy Grandmaster was definitely a highlight of Taika Waititi’s hilarious superhero sequel, and in the subsequent time since the film’s release, more Gold-footage has emerged. The other day, a wonderful extended sequence featured Goldblum going Full Goldblum. Now, a deleted scene gives us even more of that Grandmaster goodness we all crave. Please watch.

The effects in this scene aren’t finished, which makes this almost even more enjoyable. Not only do you have Jeff Goldblum, you have him reacting to terrible-looking cartoon bat…things. Some of the moments in this clip (like the melting of the Grandmaster’s cousin) made it into the final film, but as a whole, this is more evidence of Waititi letting Goldblum go wild.
When asked about casting Goldblum, Waititi said:
“Well, he was our first choice, and really our only choice. I had a coffee with him and started to talking to him about the movie but when you talk to Jeff, he doesn’t answer any questions. But he does talk about your jacket and who you remind him of and actors that you look like. He ended up being enthusiastic. We had no ego problems on this film which was interesting because we had so many egomaniacs.“
The upcoming Ragnarok Blu-ray will have even more deleted and extended scenes like the one above. Here are some other features:
