The 57-year-old TV star managed to injure herself whilst recording a cooking segment with guest chef Gordon Ramsay.
In a picture posted by This Morning’s official Twitter account, Ruth can be seen pictured with her husband Eamonn Holmes and Gordon, 50, whilst holding her plastered finger in the air.
The caption read: “We’ll be airing our @GordonRamsay chat tomorrow after today’s show was cut short, but that wasn’t the only thing cut – right @RuthieeL?”
This Morning was cut short yesterday after Theresa May’s Election announcement, prompting Eamonn to post a short video explaining what would happen next for the ITV show.
He said: “That was a bit of a surprise. We are now off air on This Morning with the news that there is going to be a General Election.
“We’ve now got to decide what to do because we had our guests lined up for the show and if they can’t come back, we might have to pre-record a couple of interviews,” the 57-year-old added.
This Morning wasn’t the only casualty due to yesterday’s news as ITV decided to continue with a rolling news coverage following the events at Downing Street.
Loose Women‘s Twitter account posted: “Due to @Number10give making the general election announcement today, Loose Women will NOT be on air as @itvnews brings you all the latest.
“Due to the general election announcement, today’s guests – @MeganOMullally & @jimmyconstable – will appear on the show at a later date,” a following tweet read.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10:30am.
