This Morning: Why are Phillip and Holly not hosting today? ITV hosts' break explained

This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are taking a break from the daytime show, which they have presented since together since 2009.

Why isn’t Phillip and Holly presenting This Morning?

ITV announced that Phillip and Holly would not be appearing on the daytime show following the Easter holidays.

The duo, who have hosted the show together since 2009, are taking time off over the festive period.

Bidding farewell to the ITV studio, Holly wrote on Twitter: “Well we’re going to miss this view! Bye for now @itvstudios thanks for having us.”

When will Phillip and Holly return to This Morning?

Phillip, 55, and Holly, 36, will return to the popular show on April 9 following their Easter break.

The pair will present the show in a brand new location on April 16 when ITV  Studio relocates.

Daytime shows This Morning, Good Morning Britain and Lorraine will all move from The London Studios in South Bank to the Television Centre in White City.

Earlier this week Phillip shared a picture of himself posing with some of the This Morning team ahead of the big move.

He captioned the group photo: “Just some of our amazing This Morning Southbank team.

“See you all in White City in two weeks!”

Who is replacing Phillip and Holly?

Big Brother hosts Emma Willis, 42, and Rylan Clark-Neal, 29, will present the show these next few days.

The dynamic duo, who have worked together on the Channel 5 show for several years, are excited to be hosting the show together.

Rylan said: “I love Emma to bits and it’s really nice to work together away from Big Brother and bring our chemistry to a different show.”

Meanwhile, Emma admitted she felt nervous taking over for veterans Phillip and Holly.

“It’s very nerve-wracking,” she confessed. “Because it’s done so brilliantly day in day out by Holly and Phil.

“You just don’t want to go in there and let the team down in any way.”

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
