This Morning suffers technical difficulties while Phillip Schofield struggles ‘I may barf'

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby picked up an award for This Morning after they won Best Daytime Show at the National Television Awards.

The pair have previous following them winning the award eight years in a row after a video of them presenting in their outfits from the night before went viral.

Today, the ITV duo poked fun at their antics as the show started, joking that they were not in the studio in time.

A sheet held up against the screen read while stage invader Bradley Walsh played in the background: “Our presenters haven’t turned up”

Thankfully, it was all a joke and Phillip and Holly thrust through the paper, NTA first.

Holly screamed: “We made it! Thank God some one turned Bradley Walsh off.

“Can we just say thank you, look what you made us do.

“It’s our eighth one and each one is so important.”

Phillip sounded especially croaky as he laughed: “My voice has gone down at least an octave.”

Holly piped in: “I might be reading the autocue with one eye shut.”

The pair then made their way towards the This Morning kitchen, where thoughtful Phil Vickory was waiting with bacon sandwiches.

Holly tucked in but it seemed to be too much for Phillip who had to cover his mouth.

“I may barf in a moment,” he explained, while Holly said she was going to take the sandwiches to the sofa.

Phillip begged: “Please don’t take it over there, put it there.”

However, Holly – and the rest of the ITV team – had earlier tucked into pizza for breakfast, thanks to a delivery from Domino’s.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10.30am.
