Former X Factor contestant Rylan Clark-Neal has revealed his cheeky plan to steal items from the ITV studio this week.
The 29-year-old TV personality made the shock confession ahead of This Morning’s big move from the London Studios in South Bank to the Television Centre in White City.
“I had a real rob up at Christmas when I left,” Rylan recalled. “But I’m a really honesty robber.
“I say, ‘I’m taking this vase home.’ But we will have a proper rob up next Friday, especially knowing the building is going to be knocked down.”
He went on to add: “I don’t think I’ll be taking a sofa but I would probably want to take one of the studio signs, where it says Studio 8.”
Rylan has presented on This Morning since 2015 and says working there is “surreal” as he grew up watching the show.
“To host this iconic show, that was a real moment,” he said. “Another surreal moment for me was interviewing Richard [Madeley] and Judy [Finnigan] in the Hub.”
Asked what he’s learnt working on the show, he replied: “What I have learnt is how to adapt.
“I’ve learnt to have my This Morning hosting hat on or my This Morning ‘showbiz Rylan’ hat on. You have to be a bit of a chameleon.
“Always be yourself in any job you do but when you are hosting, you have to do things slightly differently.”
He continued: “You have to keep the show in order. But, when I’m hosting, I’m more than happy to throw the show into chaos. I can start talking about something else.”
This week Rylan is hosting This Morning with Emma Willis, who he has worked with on Big Brother.
“Emma helped me so much in the early days,” Rylan gushed. “She always made me feel comfortable. I would go to her every day and ask her what to do.
“Then there came a point where I didn’t need to do that anymore. It was like a graduation.”
Speaking about their friendship, he added: “We make each other laugh, we get on really well and we know when we need to be serious. We just enjoy working together.”
Rylan, who won the eleventh series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2013, said he was excited to bring their “chemistry” to This Morning.
“I love Emma to bits and it’s really nice to work together away from Big Brother and bring our chemistry to a different show,” he enthused.
The TV presenter has been tipped to appear on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing after his colleague Ruth Langsford competed in the show last year.
Teasing the possibility of joining Strictly, Rylan said: “I’m a big fan of Strictly. Last year, I got the chance to go down there for the first time.
“It was nice to go down and support Ruth. Never say never.”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10,30am.
