The 55-year-old host appeared to be shocked as the cook stormed in halfway through a link and confronted him.
Chef Phil, also 55, ran into the studio after the presenter finished a link about the upcoming cooking segment in which viewers would be shown how to make custard tarts.
Phillip expressed his disdain for the eggs in the recipe and seemed to retch at the mere mention of the classic treat, leading to Phil to pace into the studio and confront him.
“Oh god, he’s coming!” Phillip was heard exclaiming as he saw his This Morning colleague marching towards him.
However, it was impossible to hear what Phil was saying because he wasn’t wearing a microphone.
Phil was seen jabbing the This Morning presenter in the chest with his index finger as he said: “You’ve eaten it in my restaurant in 1996!”
He then assured Phillip that he would make a dish that he would like before walking off again.
But was not the last of the pastry-related drama after Holly, 36, branded the Loose Women “tarts” during a cheeky link, leading Phillip to end up in stitches.
Today’s episode of the ITV show proved to be an eye-opening one after Holly also revealed a parenting nightmare she’d suffered with her young son Harry.
She revealed during the viewer call-in: “I thought, ‘I want to die, and if I just take you out, you’ll do it again.’ I wanted the ground to open up. I wanted to die. He didn’t get the reaction he wanted. He didn’t do it again because he didn’t get what he wanted.”
Holly explained that her toddler threw a tantrum in Marks & Spencer after he had wanted something he had seen, however she refused to give in.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
