This Morning confirms Eamonn and Ruth exit as Alison and Dermot take over hosting duties

Her husband and co-star Eamonn sent out an identical tweet from his own account a couple of minutes earlier.

And fans were delighted with the announcement, as one shared on the social media site: “Alison and Dermot are an absolute dream team #ThisMorning.”

This Morning’s soap expert Sharon Marshall said: “Congratulations to two of the nicest, warmest, most genuine people on the planet.”

“Alison Hammond queen x,” commented another fan.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
