New research has revealed exactly how much Britons spend on trying to woo the opposite sex.
Men spend an eye-watering £2,076 annually to get women into bed, while ladies spend just £780 a year on their romantic endeavours.
The average male spends £173 per month on items trying to woo females, while women spend £65 a month.
The shocking research comes from a survey of 2,287 single Britons aged 18 and over.
The surprising numbers could be due, in part, to the fact that the men who took part in the survey claimed to sleep with someone new twice a month.
For women, on the other hand, the average figure was once a month.
However, even taking this into account men are spending more to seduce a woman.
Men spend 62 per cent more than women in a bid to encourage women to sleep with them.
Each gender was asked what it was they spent the most money on in their attempts to attract the opposite sex.
What do men buy to seduce women?
1. Alcohol – 24%
2. Food/Dining out – 19%
3. Gym membership – 16%
4. Condoms – 13%
5. New clothes – 9%
While this all seems rather old fashioned, it has recently been revealed that feminist women have more orgasms than women with traditional views.
Orgasms are more likely to be experienced by women who identify with modern attitudes towards gender equality.
Although women in general prefer to receive presents than have sex, according to another study.
Half of all women surveyed, 50 per cent, rate the arrival of an online order as one of their happiest moments.
