The Walking Dead season 8: Showrunner teases new series will run at ‘breakneck pace’

He promised fans that following the heart-stopping fight between Negan and the Alexandrians in the season seven finale, the show will not slow down.

“By virtue of the fact that the narrative has turned into one of pretty insane conflict… it’s going to affect the structure in ways that make it a bit more kinetic, a bit more breakneck,” he revealed.

“Shifting away from entire stories in one episode, and sort of fractured over several episodes, with little pieces of each story coming together.”

Scott added to Entertainment Weekly: “Things are going to move, and possibly not have the kind of deep dives in single episodes, but rather laying out the pieces as we go on.”

It comes after Steven Ogg, who plays Savior Simon, has hinted that .

Simon is one of Negan’s right-hand men and regularly makes pick-ups from the Hilltop community while terrorising their leader Gregory.

But judging by Steven’s latest comments, he might not be around for much longer.

“Well, I always say… Look, everyone is going to die right? Everyone is going to die on the show, at some point,” he told ScreenRant.

“So, I sort of take it like, well yeah, it is what it is, when it happens it happens and of course when it does happen, I will probably cry and curl up in the foetal position and say, ‘Why? Why me?’

“But it’s part of it. Especially in this world, you know that there is limited time on you.”

is expected to return to FOX UK later this year.
