The Walking Dead season 8: Rick Grimes and Negan’s All Out War ending EXPOSED here

With Negan ( played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Rick Grimes  (Andrew Lincoln) heading for an explosive war, viewers of the hit AMC show seem to have waited for a long time to see a battle which fans of the comic book have expected to see.

However, Scott Gimple is already talking about that storyline coming to an end, teasing that the battle will “absolutely” be finished at the end of the planned 16 upcoming episodes.

“The war will absolutely be resolved by the end of season eight,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

While it doesn’t seem like a lot of episodes to cover a war that has been building for two seasons, fans will expect to see the 16 instalments halved between October and February.

This comes as Gimple revealed that Maggie Rhee  (Lauren Cohan) will not give birth in season eight.

She explained that not a lot of time has passed since Glenn (Steven Yeun) was brutally murdered at the hands of Negan.

“I always want to put a little ticker tape along the bottom of the episode saying how far into the apocalypse and into the pregnancy we are because I’m playing newly pregnant for a really long time.

“But the truth of the matter is, it’s only been a matter of weeks since Negan killed Glenn,” The 35-year-old added.

The Walking Dead returns to FOX UK on October 23.
