The Walking Dead season 7: Fans praise 'action-packed' episode ahead of next week's finale

As season seven draws to a close, the penultimate episode has been praised by fans who are now eagerly awaiting the finale next week.

As the action moved around different locations including Sasha’s (played by Sonequa Martin Green) cell, Hilltop and Oceanside, fans were finally given answers to questions that have been around since the beginning of the series.

After the tantalising view of a mystery figure at the end of last week’s episode, it now appears that Dwight (Austin Amelio) was the man watching Rosita (Christian Serratos) from afar.

Discovering that he is actually now against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as first suspected, Rosita takes her prize back to Rick (Andrew Lincoln), who finally gets the chance to have his revenge.

Telling Dwight to get on his knees in the same way that Negan made the Alexandrians do, shows just how far Rick has come since losing Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz).

Will Rick kill Dwight or will he realise that he is a bigger asset than he could ever have hoped for?

Elsewhere, Rick finally got more guns and more people for his army after storming the Oceanside and demanding they cooperate.

Meanwhile, fans have been quick to praise the episode, with one tweeting: “This episode of The Walking Dead was sooo good.” [sic]

Another posted: “The ending of this weeks episode of The Walking Dead f***ed me up so bad that I can’t walk.”

A third added: “@TheWalkingDead thank you for cutting the drama and bringing some action back.”

Fans have also been keen to share their excitement for the final, with one posting: “The Walking Dead finale is going to be insane next week, oh my.”

Another added: “The season finale of The Walking Dead is gonna be intense!”

The Walking Dead‘s season finale airs next Monday on FOX at 9pm.
