The Voice's Gavin Rossdale 'AXED' and you won't believe who is tipped to replace him…

The 51-year-old was a hit with fans of the singing contest when it moved from the BBC to ITV but it seems that the Bush frontman might not be returning to the line-up in the future.

An insider from The Voice revealed: “Gavin was great to work with during the series, but the bosses just felt he wasn’t right in the end.

“He didn’t make much of an impact, and they want someone with serious spark and charisma.

“So they have taken the decision that he won’t be back next year,” the source told The Sun.

Gavin sat alongside fellow newbie, Jennifer Hudson, as well as stalwarts will.i.am and Tom Jones.

It is currently unknown if the other three will stay for the next season with a representative of ITV telling Express.co.uk: “It is too early to confirm the coaches for The Voice UK 2018.”

Although Gavin has only been on the show for a year, bets are on for who will be the next to replace him.

Eyes are already firmly set on star of The Voice Kids, Danny Jones, to take one of the red chairs.

The McFly star proved to be extremely popular on the spin-off show and is currently the favourite to replace Gavin.

The Voice is expected to return to ITV next year.
