Host Emma Willis revealed that Ruti was the winner of this year’s The Voice UK just pipping Donel to the post.
Her coach this year, Sir Tom Jones was left speechless when he heard the result as he shot a shocked look at the camera.
When asked how she felt following the news, Ruti confessed that she had no words.
However, she did thank Tom for his support throughout this year’s series.
As the final instalment came to a close, Ruti could be seen breaking down as she was overcome with emotion.
Ahead of the result, Ruti admitted that she never expected to even win a place on The Voice.
She explained: “It would be so amazing to win, I didn’t even expect to get a turn.
“My friends and family have been so supportive. If I was to win hopefully they would be incredibly proud.”
The result was quite a shock for many as it was previously revealed that Donel was the favourite to take the crown.
However, many viewers at home were thrilled with Ruti’s win and took to Twitter to comment.
“Congratulations to @rutimusic well deserved winner of #TheVoiceUK,” one viewer shared.
Another added: “Well done ruti good luck with your future and I’m sure we will see you @officialdonel #TheVoiceUK.”
A third continued: “Ruti is the sensible winner. After all, the show is called #TheVoiceUK.”
“Amazing that @rutimusic has won! Love her voice so much! @officialdonel will be a star, but the right singer won here! #TheVoiceUK,” someone else wrote.
A fifth noted: “#TheVoiceUK Yessssssss always my winner @rutimusic …Good luck #Donel for the future @iamwill.”
It comes after coach Olly Murs revealed he is already in talks with ITV about returning to the show.
Speaking to Radio Times, he explained: “We’ve had initial talks with ITV.
“They’ve said they’d love me to come back – I’d love to come back. So until it’s all signed, sealed, delivered– we’ll see.
“But without a doubt I’d love to stay and come back.”
The Voice UK is available to watch on the ITV Hub now.
