Discussing her career and recent casting in West End musical 42nd Street, the 57-year-old oozed glamour and sophistication with her iconic red hair and leopard print dress.
However, those watching The One Show at home were left confused by the Glaswegian’s “American” twang.
One tweeted: “Watching wee Sheena Easton on the one show at min, wats happened to her Glaswegian accent, it’s packed its bags.” [sic]
Another posted: “The one show? Wasn’t Sheena Easton scottish once?”
A third added: “Why is Sheena Easton speaking in an American accent on #TheOneShow? You’re from Glasgow hen, settle doon.” [sic]
The 80s icon discussed her career on the BBC show, including how she has lived in Las Vegas for over a decade.
She said: “I went there and did eight shows a week for two years and my babies started school and they didn’t want to give up and leave their friends.
“So I stayed in crazy Las Vegas and saw it become what it is today,” she added.
Sheena also discussed how she rose to fame on Big Time where she got her first record deal.
“Back then it wasn’t so much a reality show – it was a documentary. We’ll show the public how the single is made but the record company signed me on the spot.
“It totally changed my life. No matter how much talent or ability you have you need the first door to open,” she explained.
The One Show airs weeknights from 7pm on BBC One.
