The Loch: Viewers HOOKED to ITV drama after SHOCK twist ending

The series follows Detective Annie Redford (played by Laura Fraser), who ends up in charge of her first murder case in a sleepy village that surrounds Loch Ness. But with a slow start to the first two episodes, people started to switch off from the Broadchurch-style show

In a gradual build to its final nail-biting moments, The Loch’s third offering saw forensic psychologist Blake (Don Gilet) get in trouble for blurting out that the two murders were connected, and Annie frantically questioned a number of residents about the disappearance of local teenager Jonjo Patterson (Keiran Gallacher).

But as the mother-of-one rushed to get to the town hall for a meeting towards the end of the episode, it was suddenly revealed that the missing child was dead – as she found him stuffed in the back of a black van, to the shock of the other villagers.

Fans instantly took to Twitter to share their excitement at the development.

One person tweeted: “Love the Loch, I cant wait for next week. Gripping stuff! [sic]”

Another viewer couldn’t hide their excitement that the thriller had upped its game with the third episode, when they posted: “Omg the loch was good tonight. Cant wait for next week. Fearless tomorrow night. Loving these thriller detective series [sic].”

Meanwhile, a fan tweeted their appreciation of one of the show’s actresses, but admitted that the series was difficult to watch.

“I’ll watch anything with Siobhan Finneran in. Ditto Will Ash. But The Loch is scaring the heck out of me,” they said.

And a fourth viewer admitted that they found the whodunnit drama too complicated to unravel, saying: “Watching the loch and trying to work out who did it……i give up they all done it #TheLoch #nessie #myheadhurts”

The Loch continues Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
