The Loch: Viewers DISAPPOINTED with second episode after successful premiere – ‘I give up’

Last week, the six-part series received plenty of compliments from fans, although many did notice a striking similarity to Broadchurch.

The show follows the hunt for a serial killer in the Highlands of Scotland and there is pressure on local detective Annie Redford (played by Laura Fraser) to discover the truth.

Fans got introduced to Annie last week as she took on her first murder case when the body of Niall Swift was found with stones tied to his ankles in the waters of Loch Ness.

With the remote community shaken to its corse, Annie works alongside DCI Lauren Quigley (Siobhan Finnerman) to help her crack the case and find the murderer in the town of Lochnefoy.

But despite the potential storyline, many people watching at home felt very confused and took to social media to share their thoughts on the second episode.

One person said: “I have no idea what’s going on in #TheLoch and more importantly, I don’t think I care. Shame, it could have been good but it’s pants.”

Another person was put off by the deaths of many animals, they wrote: “Too many animals are dying for my liking. Time to give up watching #TheLoch.”

“I want to like #TheLoch but it’s clunky as hell with some seriously on the nose dialogue. It’s unimaginatively shot too. Disappointing,” added a third.

“Confused & boring. Now I can accept confused but this is boring & slow #TheLoch,” one person wrote while another added: “Totally confused by @ITV #TheLoch – what on earth is going on?”

The Loch continues Sunday on ITV at 9.00pm.
