The Grand Tour season 2: Watch James May's haunting warning to Richard Hammond amid crash

Richard, 47, was airlifted to hospital back in June after losing control of his 200mph super car in Switzerland, miraculously escaping with just a broken leg from the potentially fatal incident.

In a brand new trailer for hotly-anticipated second series of The Grand Tour, his partner in crime and fellow former Top Gear presenter James May, 54, gives him a chilling warning as he prepares to film one of the many stunts for the show.

Richard can be seen refuelling his vehicle while Jeremy Clarkson, 57, stands by, before James advises: “You realise that could result in your death.”

In what could be a tongue-in-cheek nod to the risky side of their work, the trailer is set to the soundtrack of Live and Let Die.

The action-packed trailer, however, proves that Richard’s near miss earlier this year has been put well and truly behind them as he’s seen back to full fitness and behind the wheel once more.

Fans of the motoring show will be delighted to discover that the teaser also reveals when the show will be returning to Amazon Prime, as it ends with the promise: “More monkey business 8 December.”

It also promises plenty of classic antics from the trio, with a bounty of awe-inspiring supercars and a few baffling-looking vehicles thrown in the mix.

One terrifying scene sees them navigating their way down a sheer mountainside covered in snow, Jeremy leaning out of his car door as he goes, explaining: “It’s in case I needs to bail out.”

The series will stream one episode per week starting next month.

The new season takes Jeremy, Richard and James across five continents, as they travel from Mozambique to Dubai, Spain and New York.

The Grand Tour returns December 8 on Amazon Prime.
