The Grand Tour season 2: Filming in CHAOS after disasters ‘We’re playing catch-up'

According to producer Andy Wilman, following a worrying bout of pneumonia in August, the presenter bribed his doctors to release him from hospital so he could get back to work on the Amazon car series.

Speaking at the Royal Television Society biannual convention in Cambridge, Wilman revealed: “He’s actually filming today.

“He’s cleared to film from today; so some doctor somewhere has accepted the bribe and signed him off fit, so they’re all back doing a thing.

“We’re playing catch-up now with our filming schedule like crazy.”

Meanwhile, Jeremy Clarkson, 57, confessed he was itching to get back to his high-octane job as soon as possible, but was told he would die if he didn’t get urgent treatment for his condition.

“It’s really, really annoying because I’ve never had one day off work since I started in 1978,” he added on motoring website DriveTribe.

Amid the chaos, Clarkson’s Grand Tour co-host, Richard Hammond, 47, was involved in a terrifying car accident that put him out of action for a number of weeks.

Having miraculously escaped with only a broken leg after flipping his 220mph super car earlier this year, the Top Gear veteran also couldn’t wait to get back behind the wheel.

Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, Hammond claimed that there haven’t been any filming problems so far.

“It’s fine,” he said breezily. “We’re all back at it. We were ahead anyway so we’ve been able to take advantage of that.”

The Grand Tour season 2 will air on Amazon Prime later this year.
