How many episodes are in The End of the F***ing World?

Season one of the Channel 4 and Netflix show has a total of eight episodes and each instalment of the comedy runs to 30 minutes.

The programme originally aired on Channel 4 back in October 2017 but it really made an impact when it dropped globally on Netflix in January this year.

The End of the F***ing World stars Alex Lawther of Black Mirror fame as James and Penny Dreadful actress Jessica Barden as Alyssa, who decide to run away from their dull suburban existences.

What follows is a touching and hilarious coming-of-age tale with the two teenagers embarking on a road trip that lands them in all sorts of situations.

The show was originally a comic book by Charles Forsman, which was adapted for TV by writer and Misfits and Marcella actress Charlie Covell.

THE END OF THE F***ING WORLD CAST

Will there be another season of The End of the F***ing World?

It’s the million dollar question that fans of the show have been asking since they watched the first run.

The future of The End of the F***ing World seems to be up in the air after Channel 4 told Express.co.uk back in January that “no decision” had yet been made.

However, showrunner Jonathan Entwistle admitted he was exploring the possibilities, telling Thrillist: “So we’re looking at what the people who loved the show are saying, to see how we can unpack that and how we could continue the tone of the show.

“Because I think that is so crucial: Without the comic as a backbone – we’ve essentially finished Chuck’s story – how do we execute the world of The End of the F***ing World and still keep it fresh and exciting?”

Forsman told Express.co.uk in an exclusive interview that he had no plans for a follow up to his comic but could understand why fans wanted The End of the F***ing World season two

He explained: “I like the story as is. I think it’s really perfect the way they did it.

“But of course I understand that last scene and everyone screaming ‘no!’ and wanting to know what happens and what lies in the future for those kids.”

Forsman went on to say: “As a fan of it, Charlie Covell who wrote the show – I was just blown away with what she did.

“A part of me would love to see what she comes up with and keep it going.”
