Today’s special edition of The Chase, which was in aid of charity, saw 80s pop star Sinitta share the surprising opinion in her initial chat with the ITV quiz show’s presenter Bradley Walsh.
During her cash builder round, 54-year-old Sinitta revealed that she started out in theatre before heading into music, but it was mogul Simon Cowell who was interested in partnering up.
Sinitta explained that the X Factor judge came to see her after one of her performances, leading comedian Bradley, 57, to make a joke about the personality.
“Whatever happened to him?” He asked with a cheeky smile.
Joining in on the joke, Sinitta then went even further and replied bluntly: “Oh, he never amounted to anything.”
As the audience started laughing at the gentle jibes, Bradley continued: “Extraordinary isn’t it.”
Getting down to business, the So Macho hitmaker tried her best to rack up some cash for her chosen charity but couldn’t seem to focus.
As the quick-fire round got underway, the celebrity contestant kept talking over the questions and only managed to earn £3,000 for the team.
Exasperated, Bradley couldn’t resist teasing the star through his chuckles.
“Sinitta you have never changed darling, you’re always talking.”
Despite her initial struggles with the game, Sinitta managed to use her varied knowledge against chaser Shaun Wallace to get back to the panel.
Today’s episode also consisted of athlete Louise Hazel, comedian Joel Dommett and Family Fortunes presenter Les Dennis.
Joel and Louise fought through their losses to take £11,000 back to the table, but 64-year-old Les wasn’t so lucky.
After making the bold choice to take the chaser’s big bucks offer of £66,000, he struggled with some of the historical questions and ended up empty-handed.
Disappointed in the defeat, lawyer Shaun, also known as the Dark Destroyer, said: “I take no pleasure in this one Les, you were one of my heroes growing up. I mean that.”
Sinitta, Louise and Joel gave it their all in the final chase but the chaser was simply one step ahead of them and the team lost the game.
