The Chase fans were left disappointed today after tuning in and being met with coverage of the latest events from Ascot racecourse.
Hosted by Bradley Walsh, 58, the ITV quiz show has gained a legion of dedicated fans who tune in to see the Chasers take on hopeful contestants.
According to current TV listings, the programme will be replaced for the remainder of the week, with other afternoon quiz shows also cancelled.
Fans weren’t too happy with the scheduling shake-up and quickly took to social media to voice their frustrations.
One posted: “Am I a joke to you ITV? Horse racing? #thechase,” with a second adding: “FFS forgot we got no #theChase FFS ITV.”
A third wrote: “Organised my housework today to have a rest and watch #tippingpoint #thechase …. but no!!! #f***inghorseracing.”
Whilst a fourth remarked: “No #TippingPoint or #TheChase coz of horse racing wtf. Why not put it on the other #itv channels.”
Last week, Sinnerman star Paul Sinha, 49, revealed the news he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Speaking of the diagnosis in a blog post, Paul remained committed to the ITV quiz show despite the news regarding his health.
Having revived the news back in May, Paul wrote: “In the time since my Parkinson’s started I have been ludicrously busy.”
Paul continued: “And fully intend to keep Chasing, keep writing and performing comedy, keep quizzing and keep being hopeless at Tasks.
“Dancing on Ice is, I suspect, out of the question.”
The Chaser’s co-stars have since voiced their support for the quiz master, with The Vixen Jenny Ryan, 37, taking to Twitter in response of the news.
In other Chase news, The Governess star Anne Hegerty, 60, told host Bradley to “get his mind out the gutter,” on yesterday’s edition of the show.
After solicitor Aubrey accumulated £4,000 during the cash builder round, he came face-to-face with the ruthless quiz master.
Taking her seat at the top of the table, Anne told the contestant: “I do like a man who knows how to handle my briefs.”
Bradley was left more than puzzled by the Governesses praise of the contestant, clearly thinking Anne had made an innuendo.
With the hosts facial expressions celery showing what he thought she meant, Anne clarified: “Legal briefs! Get your mind out of the gutter.”
Having been one of the favourites in last year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Here! line-up, fans of the Governess star learnt more about Anne’s personal life.
