The Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Case Has Ended in a Mistrial

The Bill Cosby sexual assault trial has ended in a mistrial. The jurors failed to reach a unanimous decision in the case against the disgraced 79-year-old comedian, who is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his Philadelphia home in 2004.

“After 52 hours of deliberation, probably one of the most courageous acts I’ve ever seen, I’m compelled to grant a mistrial,” Judge O’Neill said to the court. Shortly after, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office announced in court and online that they will be retrying the controversial case.

Deadline has full details on the disturbing case, which is just one accusation in a long line of accusations from dozens of women against Cosby stretching back to the 1970s. He was tried for the Constand case shortly before the statute of limitation was about to expire.

Earlier this week, Cosby shocked and confused people in a bizarre move when he shouted, “Hey, hey, hey!” as he left the courtroom. The famous phrase is the signature of his cartoon character Fat Albert.
