The Betrayed Girls' Maggie Oliver reveals just TWO grooming offenders are still in prison

The former police detective revealed that just two of those who were charged in the investigation are still serving their sentence.

Speaking to host Lorraine Kelly, she explained: “They’re all out apart from two. The vast majority of the offenders, even the offender who got a 12-year-old pregnant.

“We had a foetus, we had DNA, we knew he was responsible but even that man was never charged with rape. He was charged with sexual activity with a child.”

Maggie went on to claim: “If that was my son who got a child, who got a 12-year-old pregnant, I feel sure that he would have been charged with rape.

“It’s all political correctness and people shying away but it shouldn’t matter where anyone is from. A rapist is a rapist. The laws of the country are there to address it.”

was visibly shocked by the facts that were being revealed and could be seen shaking her head in disbelief as she added: “A child rapist is a child rapist.”

Maggie urged those at home to tune into the documentary and for those involved in similar cases to speak up about what is taking place.

“I’m not a racist but I promised as a police officer to act with integrity and impartiality and uphold the law and bring the bad guys to justice,” she concluded.

“What puzzles me is that in the life of a police officer, even a chief starts off a a bobby, at what part of that climb up that slippery pole do they lose sight of what is right and wrong?”

The Betrayed Girls airs tonight on BBC One at 8.30pm.

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 8.30am.
