The Apprentice 2017: Lord Sugar gives Elizabeth unbelievable insult 'Did he say that?'

The BBC series’ latest instalment saw the florist-owner assume the role of Team Graphene’s project manager as they were tasked with providing a profit-driven tour of Bruges, Belgium.

Hearing feedback from advisers Karren Brady and Claude Littner about the candidate’s style, Lord Sugar, 70, asked: “I understand that you ran this as a bit of a military exercise, is that right?”

Unsettled by the question, Elizabeth replied: “Um let’s just say we had a lot to get our heads round in order to keep everybody organised.”

The business mogul wasn’t interested however, as he cut her off to declare: “Shall we call it your reign of terror? Don’t normally see that kind of forceful leadership outside of North Korea you know.”

While most of the boardroom candidates snickered at the comment, fans took to Twitter in shock.

One person said: “DID LORD SUGAR JUST COMPARE ELIZABETH TO KIM JONG UN #TheApprentice”

“You don’t often see that kind of forceful leadership outside North Korea” – @Lord_Sugar #TheApprentice,” another wrote.

A third joked: “Elizabeth would be considered too extreme for North Korea, Alan. #TheApprentice”, followed by: “Don’t usually see that kind of forceful leadership outside of N Korea’ Alan described Elizabeth’s style perfectly #TheApprentice.”

The episode ended with a devastating firing for Sarah-Jayne Clark, 25, after she’d failed to lead Team Vitality to a win.

“I’ve been wondering what you do,” Lord Sugar told her. “Now I know what you do, it seemed to me that you moved yourself over to a convenient place, and I think you’ve been in a convenient place for the last six weeks, and for that reason you’re fired.”

The Apprentice continues Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
