Season six was announced earlier this year by The CW president Mark Pedowitz, who said: “He [Executive producer Jason Rothernberg] may have a six or seven-year plan to it.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to even say that, that he has a plan beyond year five, but he does.”
Season six could be premiering as soon as April 2019 – roughly the same time as the fifth cycle debuted this year.
However, season premiere dates for The 100 have varied, so the sixth run could air earlier or later than this.

WARNING: Spoilers from The 100 season 5 finale
The season finale saw the world of The 100 changed irrevocably forever as the Shadow Valley was destroyed for good by McCreary (played by William Miller) after realising he was going to lose the fight.
McCreary dropped a nuclear bomb on the last inhabitable place on Earth, forcing Clarke (Eliza Taylor), Bellamy (Bob Morley) and the others to flee onto a spaceship and away from the planet.
Finally after making it to safety, Clarke decided that the only way maintain survival was for everyone to go into cryo-sleep and wake up in 10 years when hopefully the world would have started to recover from the nuclear bomb.
However, when Clarke awoke, she found out that she and the others had been asleep for 60 years rather than the originally-planned decade.
On top of that, the ship was headed for a brand new planet where hopefully they could all live peacefully.
Season six will focus on the unchartered territory they’ll face when they get there.
There are likely to be fractures between the disparate group and this could lead to more tensions and power struggles.
Either way, season six will again mark a rebirth for the post-apocalyptic show which is based on the young adult novels by Kass Morgan.
