When last we saw The 100‘s Octavia, she was seeking shelter from a downpour of toxic rain — while turning up the heat with Season 4 newcomer Ilian. So, what’s next?
Octavia is seen again when The 100 returns Wednesday (The CW, 9/8c), and even though most of her scenes are opposite Ilian, executive producer Jason Rothenberg suggests fans hold off before going all in on this potential new couple.
“I don’t think that night in the cave did much for Octavia,” Rothenberg admits to TVLine. “I feel like she was searching for a temporary way out of her pain, as was Ilian. She’s trying to let go of the pain of her past, trying to move past this killer she’s become. But at the end of the day, we are who we are. Like a moth to a flame, she’s most alive when she’s closest to death.”
Romantic entanglements aside, fans of Marie Avgeropoulos‘ character have a lot to look forward to in the season’s remaining five episodes, including a possible mending of fences between her and Bellamy.
“Octavia’s journey this season is incredible,” Rothenberg adds. “It’s about to go into orbit. It’s crazy what we’re about to see from her. And Bellamy will be there to help as much as he can — as much as she lets him.”
