Tesla had another surprise in store at the Semi Truck launch – the unveiling of the new Roadster.
Tesla Semi truck blew fans away with its incredible design, 500 miles of range and Bugatti Chiron beating drag coefficient.
However, Tesla also confirmed that it is making Roadster 2.0.
It will also become the fastest production car ever made with a 0-60mph time of 1.9 seconds and 0-100 mph in 4.2 seconds.
The car will also be able to travel a quarter mile drag strip in under nine seconds.
Provisional top speed for the Roadster 2.0 is 250mph.
Powering the Roadster will be a 200kWh battery which will allow range of 620 miles.
This is truly groundbreaking.
“The point of doing this is to give a hardcore smackdown to gasoline vehicles,” said Musk.
“Driving a gasoline sports car is going to feel like a steam engine with a side of quiche.”
Powered by three motors and has 10,000 Nm of torque.
The car has a 2 + 2 set-up which means that it can accommodate four passengers.
The Roadster 2.0 will be available from 2020.
