He always said he’d be back.
The 70-year-old Austrian oak is teaming up with James Cameron once again for Terminator 6, a direct sequel to the director’s first two films in the franchise.
Ignoring the other films, the latest movie will follow another timeline in the franchise with Linda Hamilton returning as Sarah Connor.
While much of the project remains underwraps, a new casting call for the lead teases something of the plot for Terminator 6.
The director, who is only producing this film, said: “Yeah, you got to ask yourself, ‘Why did they make these characters look and sound like Arnold?’ There has to be a reason.
“So yeah, it has flashed through my mind that there has to have been a prototype.
“There has to have been a guy who’s DNA was harvested from – that they grew the organic outer layer that they grew the Terminator from…and that presumably was a real person at some point.”
Terminator 6 is set for release in July 2019, with shooting starting this May.
