The Labour politician appeared on Good Morning Britain to admit that his party failed the nation with the 2005 Gambling Act, after a guest revealed they’d lost £1million.
However, the interview took an unexpected turn as the ITV studio sounded like it was falling apart at the seems.
As a bang rang behind the scenes, the discussion was momentary halted.
Susanna Reid gasped: “Whoops!” while Madeley sighed: “I’ve lost my question now.”
“I think somebody just lost their steak,” he added.
Reid then swiftly moved on to address the shocking reports of sexual harassment being rife in the Houses of Parliament.
Following Defence Secretary Michael Fallon’s apology for touching a journalist’s knee during dinner, Madeley asked Watson: “What should happen next?”
“That’s clearly inappropriate behaviour,” Watson stressed, but went on to suggest that the fault lies with a system where voices can’t be heard.
“You can’t just leave this down to the victims to sort this out,” he added.
Madeley is currently filling in for Piers Morgan on GMB while the host enjoys his annual leave.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
