Blind Date, the popular television show, is returning to screens soon.
The ITV programme, presented by Cilla Black originally, brought young people together by letting one contest choose from three others.
Now two former contestants who chose one another back in 1992 met again on the London tube yesterday evening.
The meeting has now become a viral sensation with thousands of re-tweets on social media.
Blind Date returned to TV screens in June.
Howard Griffiths, one of the contestants, filmed the moment he bumped in Brigitte from Epping.
The lucky pair appeared on the show back in October in 1992, went on one date after the show but never saw each other again after that fateful night.
Howard, who is now 48, currently presents a TV shopping channel and is currently single.
He used his ability to speak Italian and Welsh to secure the blonde, now 45, on the show.
Speaking of his meeting with Brigitte on the London Underground, he said: “We both said ‘you haven’t changed’. It was absolutely bonkers. I am still in shock – there was a real electricity talking to each other.”
Twenty five years ago the pair went on a romantic date to Germany but Howard claimed the romance quickly fizzled out.
For hopeless romantics who hope this is a second chance at love, there might be a chance.
Howard told The Sun: “We only had a few minutes on the tube – I don’t know if she’s married, has ten kids or is still looking for love.
“We swapped cards so I will definitely call her today to catch up properly.”
Howard tweeted the video out to almost 5,000 followers and captioned it: “You won’t believe this! Just randomly met #Brigette who I picked on @ITV #BlindDate 25 years ago, on the #CentralLine #SmallWorld”.
The video shows the TV presenter speaking to the camera.
He says: “I’ve just met Brigitte from Blind Date. What’s your name and where do you come form?”
She replies: “Yeah. I’m Brigitte from Epping.”
Could a reunion be written in the stars for this lucky couple, or is there not a lorra lorra love between the two? Only time will tell for Howard and Brigitte.
