Fans were left confused after the Channel 4 cooking programme appeared to have some difficulties with their sound just a few minutes into the live broadcast.
Guests Gareth Malone, 41, was cut off mid-sentence as the live sound seemed to fail, glitching and then replaying audio of Paul Hollywood, 51, from a couple of minutes earlier.
The result was a hilarious few moments which looked as if Gareth was doing an impressive impression of the Great British Bake Off judge.
Viewers took to Twitter to comment on the blunder, with one asking: “Is my head f**ked or did they just b**ger up the sounds?”
“Gareth just did an amazing Paul Hollywood impression,” another joked, while a third shared the clip, saying: “So here is Gareth’s amazing impression of Paul Hollywood for those who missed it… WTF!”
Others wondered if the delay meant that the show wasn’t live, and the fact that guest Johnny Vegas, 47, looked to be wearing a watch telling the incorrect time.
Later in the show, host Tim Lovejoy, 49, was forced to apologise for the mix-up, assuring viewers that Sunday Brunch was indeed airing live.
“We are live, some viewers think we’re not live because there was a sound issue earlier,” he said. “And Johnny Vegas’ watch is set to a weird time.
Johnny explained that his watch was indeed 10 minutes fast, putting viewers’ minds at ease.
Sunday Brunch continues next Sunday at 9.30am on Channel 4.
