Striking Pencil Drawings of Movie Characters and Other Icons

There’s no shortage of artists drawing snazzy sketchbook drawings of movie characters and works of art, but there’s something special about Mike Koubou’s work, which came to our attention via Bored Panda. His elegant shading style and attention to detail are technically impressive, but what’s particularly striking is how he captures the melancholy of his subjects, conveying their complex emotions in the movements of his pencil. These are a few of our favorites; see more of his work on Instagram and RedBubble.
