Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas ‘lands’ new TV role amid head judge uncertainty

The International Latin Champion will take her first foray into hosting this week having previously been an interviewee on the show.

While she is only scheduled to appear as a guest panellist, the 57-year-old could be in for a longer stint.

The Sun has reported that ITV would like Shirley to return regularly as they believe she would fit right in to the programme.

The network have declined to comment on the speculation of her joining on a more permanent basis.

Shirley will be making her first outing as a guest presenter in tomorrow’s instalment.

The Loose Women line-up rotates daily while being anchored by presenters Ruth Langsford, Andrea McLean and Christine Lampard.

There has been doubt over whether the choreographer will be returning for a second season of Strictly Come Dancing as it has not yet been confirmed.

Last year saw Shirley replace Len Goodman as head judge on the BBC competition.

She suffered a backlash for her judging style and the controversy stemming from Aston Merrygold’s departure.

However, she has expressed a wish to return, revealing she would be “delighted” if the invitation came.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
